    Summer Recap

As summer comes to a close, our team is reflecting on the sunshine-filled days that brought just the right mix of work and play. Between client meetings and property showings, our crew made time for family vacations, backyard barbecues, ball games, and a few extra scoops of ice cream (because summer calories don’t count, right?). We’re proud of how our team balanced professional commitments while still making space for those special seasonal memories that matter most. From beach trips to concerts, we proved that success isn’t just measured in deals closed, but also in moments shared. Now, as we trade flip-flops for fall shoes, we’re bringing that same energy and balance into the months ahead. Here’s to wrapping up a great summer and stepping into a productive, exciting fall together!

Summer updates from some of our team members:

    Aaron

We took a cruise out of Miami to Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Bahamas, and a trip to Virginia Beach!

    Andrea

This summer has been extra special for the Icenhower family with the arrival of baby Mason in June! July brought sweet moments as we welcomed visiting family, introducing Mason to his grandparents and cousins. We enjoyed some backyard grilling, but mostly, we’ve cherished the simple joy of staying home and soaking up every precious moment together as a new family of three. Baby Mason did get to see the WVU football stadium already—and he’s definitely excited for fall!

    Anna

This was such a wonderful summer! The kids and I really enjoyed watching Ryan Trahan’s 50 States in 50 Days every night while snacking on his candy line, Joyride. We also loved attending Picklesburg in Pittsburgh for the first time, where we tried pickle lemonade and a pickle pepperoni roll. We went on family trips to Ohiopyle, The Biltmore in Asheville, NC, and our annual trip to Hilton Head Island. And, of course, we hung out at Lefty’s with our besties!

    David

We started out summer with a trip to Cacapon area in the eastern panhandle. We visited a cat café, roasted s’mores at our cozy cabin in the woods, and hiked through an old train tunnel. Later in the summer we stayed at Valley View Cabins and enjoyed Blackwater Falls, a river float, and music at the Purple Fiddle. Lastly, we spent some time at Bethany Beach in Delaware.  It was a relaxing summer with a lot of wild and wonderful WV memories!

    Drew

Our summer was filled with all the traditional fun. Every year our kids make a summer bucket list and I think we checked off almost everything this year with the exception of “kids make dinner”. One of our favorites was a trip to Kennywood. There were many weekends of baseball with my son’s travel team, lots of pool days, deck nights with friends, s’mores in the backyard, and two annual family reunions. We closed out the summer with the Savannah Bananas at PNC Labor Day weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. A great summer of 2025!

    Janelle

The Zeoli family packed plenty of adventure into their summer with trips to the Chesapeake Bay, the beaches and boardwalk of Wildwood, NJ, and to visit family-friends in West Virginia. Back at home, the garden thrived—producing an abundance of cherry tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and cucumbers, along with a new “chaos garden” bursting with 10–15 varieties of colorful flowers. The backyard brought its own surprises too, from spotting a turtle to discovering a nest of three baby bunnies who now live under the shed and come out to play each day. Hours of fun were spent on our newest backyard addition—a giant inflatable water slide. We ended the summer on a high note, celebrating our youngest daughter’s 3rd birthday and our oldest daughter’s exciting first day of kindergarten!

    Kate

This summer was awesome for the Kimm Family! 🌞

We sold our Pennsylvania home and made the move to “wild and wonderful” West Virginia, where we’re now living the lake life daily on beautiful Cheat Lake. When we weren’t in the throes of moving, we spent plenty of time at PNC Park cheering on the Buccos! My son Nash was invited to walk the warning track and run the bases (big sis and I got to tag along!)! I met my favorite pierogi (a true summer highlight!)!

On top of that, my husband, Marshall, took the stage in Anything Goes at the State Theatre in Uniontown, PA, and I had the joy of meeting the incredibly talented Corduroy Brown (from Huntington, WV) at the Ruby Hazel McQuain Amphitheater during a free concert at the park.

A season full of big changes and memories we’ll always treasure. Here’s to whatever comes next!

    Kim

Sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and the rhythm of island life filled our cup all summer long. Wishing these days would never end. . .

    Mark

The highlight of the Nesselroad summer was a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Mark and his wife, son, daughter, and parents thoroughly enjoyed America’s 1st and 20th National Parks.  The magnificent landscapes, thermal features, and wildlife (bison, wolves, black bears, grizzlies, elk, pronghorns, sheep, coyotes, foxes, & bald eagles) are remarkable. Before the trip, Logan trained as a member of Florida’s ODP state soccer team and, afterward, Elle competed at the Florida Swimming Summer FLAGS Championship. As August turns into September, school is in full swing, and we look forward to weekends at the soccer field or pool and the activities that accompany fall.

    Rachael

Over the summer I celebrated my birthday, the birthdays of friends, my dad’s birthday, and my parents’ 50th (!) wedding anniversary. I went to the WV State Fair for the first time in several years – every West Virginian should go at least once. The rest of the summer was rounded out with lots of concerts and TBT basketball in Charleston!

Check Out What Our Team has Been up to This Summer

The Nesselroad summer was filled with lots of travel, kickstarted with Mark and Lauren having a fun-filled day at the Kenny Chesney concert with close friends. Being a sports family, their daughter’s swim practices were ongoing, and there were many soccer events, including traveling to CT and Canada for their son’s soccer ID invite camps.  While in Canada, the crew thoroughly enjoyed touring and learning about Niagara Falls.  As the summer wound down, there were takeout/pizza dinners at the beach, bike rides, visits to the zoo, frog and lizard catching, and back-to-school activities.  Many great memories were had and more are sure to come. – Mark

We started the summer with our annual trip to Kennywood with our girls and their friends the day after school! Then we headed to OBX for a perfect family vacation with some of our family and friends (of course our dog, Bo came too). There was lots of swimming at the house and an amazing adventure trip to New River Gorge with family. Towards the end of the summer we celebrated the wedding of dear friends, where the girls were the bride’s ‘something blue’ and we even squeezed in a boat trip at deep creek before the first football game of the season – David

I managed to weave in the perfect blend of relaxation and fun amidst my usual full schedule focused on work. I soaked up the sunshine at Cheat Lake and sharpened my golf game with a few rounds alongside friends. In August, my family and I set off for a much-anticipated beach vacation to Hilton Head, SC, only to have a tropical storm throw a thrilling curveball our way. Although the storm kept us indoors, we turned it into a cozy adventure, filled with laughter and bonding over cards and board games. – Jeff

This summer was filled with memorable experiences. I attended the Jefferson County Chamber’s Diamonds and Denim event and enjoyed kayaking with friends in Harpers Ferry. My husband and I celebrated the Fourth of July at a baseball game in DC, and I also completed the Leadership Berkeley program. We later relaxed at Deep Creek Lake, where we rented a boat and soaked up the sunshine on the water. – Andrea

The Zeoli family kicked off summer with their annual trip to the Chesapeake bay over Memorial Day weekend. In June, after weeks of preparation and help from her amazing husband, Janelle planted seeds in her first garden which included four large, raised beds and high hopes for a plentiful harvest. On the hot days, trips to the movie theater and back yard sprinklers were a saving grace. To round out the summer, the family enjoyed a little R&R on the beaches of Wildwood, NJ. – Janelle

We had such a fun summer! Two beach trips, one fishing trip to Lake Erie, lots of pool time, boat rides, trail riding, and made it to two different county fairs! Definitely was a summer to remember with lots of awesome memories. – Zach

Over the summer: I moved from Charleston to Morgantown and started working at Black Diamond! I celebrated my birthday in June with my friends and family and have spent the summer getting settled in Morgantown and have gotten to go to a lot of concerts and got to watch summer basketball. – Rachael

This summer in Morgantown was simple yet fulfilling. I balanced work, hit the gym, and spent my evenings catching up on reading. Not a flashy summer, but one that left me feeling recharged and focused. – Caleb

Another summer on the go with these amazing kiddos, full of smiles, sunshine, and salty ocean breezes. Feeling so blessed to soak in every joyful moment!– Kim

Our Family spent time together in Hilton Head, at the lake, bowling almost every day, and camping. We really enjoyed the beauty and fun West Virginia has to offer!– Anna

  3. Summer Fun with Black Diamond Realty

The warmer months are filled with heavy commercial real estate activity. Prospects are looking for market opportunities and deals are getting done at a rapid clip.

On the personal front, summer is also filled with travel, family time and fun adventures. Click on the button below to see a sneak peak of what our team has been up to this summer.

Mark NesselroadMark J. Nesselroad:  “Mark and his family are holding onto summer as long as they can.  Some of their favorite parts include spending time outdoors, enjoying extra garden vegetables from Mark’s father’s garden, family birthdays, and splashing at the pool.  Mark and his son enjoyed WVU baseball’s unique father/son camp at which they camped overnight in a tent at Monongalia County Ballpark.  His family also adopted a new family member – a 1.5 year old black and tan coonhound named Lucy!

David Lorenze Armed with a small computer in his pocket, David was able to enjoy several trips while staying on top of deal activity.  David enjoyed a relaxing trip to Sandbridge, VA with his in-laws, explored the growing area of North Myrtle Beach with his parents, sister and three small kids, plus adored some quality time with his wife while attending a wedding in Las Vegas.  David’s favorite memory from the summer was seeing his two young daughters work together to capture sand crabs.  Their expressions were priceless!

Murphy Holloway Murphy has made great progress towards earning his CCIM designation.  In June he attend the User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate course in Denver, Colorado and just got back from Dallas, Texas for the Investment Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate course.  He has completed all of the required courses and is excited to take the final cumulative test to earn his designation.  Murphy is deeply rooted in Wheeling, WV and has enjoyed multiple trips “back home” to visit with family and friends.

    Jeff Stenger
While Jeff’s primary focus this summer was establishing and maintaining client relations at Black Diamond Realty, he was able to get away for a long weekend at a cabin with friends at Deep Creek Lake.  Jeff is looking forward to seeing his sister and her family in Charlotte, NC next month when WVU plays Tennessee at the Belk College Kickoff Classic.

Janelle Zeoli:  As a native of eastern Pennsylvania, Janelle made the decision, along with her husband, to move back to their hometown in Morgantown, PA.  It was a tough decision but they have deep roots in this area.  They hope to soon find their permanent location and purchase their first home.  In her free time, Janelle enjoys creative crafts and spending time with her husband and their German Shepherd dog, family and friends. She looks forward to making the trip out to West Virginia each month to reconnect with the Black Diamond team.
At Black Diamond, we work hard to maintain a positive and healthy work-life balance. Our substantial growth over the past two years can be credited to our team approach and family atmosphere. In an effort to continue providing top-shelf, quality performance/results to our clients, Black Diamond recently expanded its human capital with the additions of Chris Waters and Jeff Wise. They both bring diverse, extensive and credible experience to our team.

In addition to North Central WV (Bridgeport/Clarksburg to Morgantown), our expanded, strong team of 7 allows Black Diamond to broaden its focus to other areas of our great state and throughout southwestern PA. We look forward to becoming more heavily involved in the Uniontown, Waynesburg, Washington, and Wheeling market areas. Black Diamond is a chamber of commerce member of the three counties that collectively constitute its “back yard,” and we look forward to being more heavily involved in additional communities.

From our family to yours, we wish you a summer filled with many more great memories. Cheers to exciting times that lie ahead!
