Black Diamond Realty is proud to share that David Lorenze, Principal & Associate Broker, CCIM, SIOR, was recently featured in the Pittsburgh Business Times’ Leading Morgantown series.

The series highlights business leaders who are helping shape Morgantown’s future. In his feature, David reflects on his career in commercial real estate, Morgantown’s growth, his connection to West Virginia and the values that continue to guide him both personally and professionally.

A few highlights from David’s feature:

Building Confidence Through Experience
David discusses a pivotal industrial transaction early in his career that pushed him beyond his comfort zone and helped shape the “go get ’em” mindset he carries into his work today. He credits that experience with giving him the confidence to take on complex brokerage deals, investments and professional achievements, including earning his CCIM and SIOR designations.

Watching Morgantown Grow
Having grown up in Morgantown, David has had a front-row seat to the community’s evolution. He points to the growth of WVU Medicine and the expansion of quality employment opportunities as significant changes that have helped transform the region.

What Makes West Virginia Special
When asked about his favorite sales pitch for Morgantown, David keeps it simple: the people. He describes West Virginians as hardworking, honest, kind, humble and family-oriented, adding, “I love traveling the world, but West Virginia will always be home!”

Looking Toward the Future
David’s vision extends beyond brokerage. He hopes to empower investors to achieve financial freedom while helping developers bring projects that enhance quality of life to the communities Black Diamond Realty serves. He also looks to the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust as an example of the kind of lasting impact he hopes to make.

Family, Team and Integrity
For David, his greatest personal accomplishment is his wife and two daughters. Professionally, he is most proud of building a team and client base that adds value to the communities where they work and live. His approach to representing clients is grounded in one principle: clients’ interests come first.
