\"Glenmark<\/a>Glenmark Holding LLC enjoys being a part of the vital community of Morgantown, WV! The company’s success allows them the opportunity to give back to the community throughout the year with financial support to various groups. While no company is able to contribute to all that ask, Glenmark Holding LLC strives to do its part to back community needs. During the holiday season, Glenmark Holding LLC has a tradition of making a special donation to an area charity. Once again, Glenmark chose to make that special donation, but this time it wasn’t in the form of a check. This time, Glenmark’s donation was much different – and much more involved!<\/strong><\/p>\n

CEO, Mark R. Nesselroad held a staff meeting late in October and announced the donation plan to all of Glenmark’s employees. “We’ve been blessed with continuing success this year,” said Nesselroad. “You’ve all worked very hard to make that possible and I’d like to thank you.”\u00a0\u00a0Nesselroad went on to express Glenmark Holding’s desire to share that success with the community by doing something special for area charities.\u00a0Glenmark’s plan was to fill the Glenmark trucks with food, toys, and winter coats\u00a0and deliver the items to\u00a0Scott’s Run Settlement House and The Salvation Army. $10,000 was committed by Glenmark to achieve this goal. Nesselroad challenged his employees to turn the cash into as many items as they could.<\/p>\n

Glenmark employees responded with a lot of enthusiasm and creativity to accomplish the task. They\u00a0shopped sales, used coupons, and bartered with dot coms. This permitted them to stretch the donation dollars to purchase more than was envisioned possible! Tom Jamieson, from Jamieson Family Markets, sold Glenmark food at cost, enabling Glenmark to almost double their buying power.<\/p>\n

Black Diamond Realty LLC and Suburban Extended Stay Hotel (affiliated companies of Glenmark), joined in the spirit to help complete the donation. C&L Hospitality, LLC (the hotel’s management company), added checks of $500 for each charity.\u00a0In addition to all of the purchased items, employees of Glenmark, Black Diamond Realty, and Suburban Extended Stay Hotel collected and donated used items for The Salvation Army. Before long it was evident that Glenmark Holding needed more trucks to carry the piles of goods that were stacking up!<\/p>\n

Although the rain poured down from the skies on the day of the donation, it did nothing to dampen the spirits of all involved! Following a luncheon with Lt. Denitza Torras of The Salvation Army and Executive Director at Scott’s Run Settlement House, Julie Harris, Glenmark employees set off in the loaded trucks to make the special deliveries. A truck pulling a 16-foot horse trailer full of food made its way to Scott’s Run Settlement House. Once on site, employees carried case after case of food down a flight of steps to fill the shelves of the pantry. A second truck pulling a trailer covered with a tarp, made the trip to Westover to unload new toys,\u00a0new winter coats, and other new clothing items to The Salvation Army’s collection warehouse. These items will be distributed to families in need over the holiday season. The remaining three\u00a0trucks, loaded with used items, went downtown to the Salvation Army’s collection dropoff on University Avenue. The group effort resulted in an $11,000+ donation to two special, local charities at a very special time of year!<\/p>\n
